Preview – Towerrunning Tour Final 2025 – Shanghai Tower – November 22

The Champions of the Towerrunning Tour 2025 are crowned at the final race at Shanghai Tower. It is the highest in altitude with 552 m to climb on 3398 stairs at 119 floors. Check what awaits you at this short Stairography.

In the men’s competition the eternal Asian duel is already decided. Even if Ryoji Watanabe from Japan wins at Shanghai Tower like last year he cannot overtake Malaysia’s Wai Ching Soh in the final season ranking. The reigning World Champion will enjoy the day for sure, but he will also look forward his return home where Yee Chin Chan and his new born son Victor wait for him … For runner up spot in the final ranking Ryoji is favourite, but Italy’s Fabio Ruga will challenge him. In the race for 3rd place there are Emanuele Manzi (ITA), Ivan Vuletic (CRO), Mark Bourne (AUS) and Ching Chun Lo (TPE).

Last year’s Shanghai Tower race saw the fulminant debut of Croatia’s multi sport talent Tea Faber in big international stair races, this year it looks she will become Towerrunning Tour Champion 2025. A 12th place in the final showdown would be enough for her to secure the title. Yuko Tateishi from Japan is only left competitor with theoretical chances to challenge Tea. Valentina Belotti from Italy and Klaudia Krajewska from Poland are in the race for 3rd place in the final ranking.

Due to the season final factor of 240 more points than at every other race are at stake, so 5 countries are possible winners of the Nations Ranking. Best chances here are for Japan to clinch the title for the first time, but Poland, Italy, Malaysia and China are also potential champions in case of extraordinary performances of their athletes.

You can check eventual constellations of the individual rankings in this litte Excel showing the Top10 before the Final.
