Finally she did it ! After so many 2nd and 3rd places over the years Shari Klarfeld with a time of 14:07 made it to top of the podium and a rare home win. Runner up at her Empire premiere was Tsz Yau Li from Hong Kong (14:26) narrowly before Kamila Chomanicova (SVK), who also made the podium for the first time ! Two home runners also came in within 15 minutes, experienced Jill Paha 4th at her best ESBRU effort so far and 5th young Nicole Robbins. . Funny statistic fact – these 5 Ladies placed 14 to 18 overall !
The male race saw a great duel won by Italy’s Fabio in 10:47 beating Wai Ching Soh by one second. The reigning World Champion from Malaysia who just had taken No. 1 spot in the ranking again, had been in the lead at floor 68. Completing the podium at his premiere in New York was Ching Chun Lo from Taiwan (11:13). Not far behind US hope Christopher Hetzel (11:13) and ESBRU rookie Klaus Hausleitner from Austria.
