“Greatest vertical height stair climbing in one hour”Before Corona Wai Ching Soh had a very successful 2020 season with 4 race wins in Sibu (MAS), Leicester (GBR) and twice Dubai (UAE). There at Almas Tower he even managed to beat the reigning World Champion Piotr Lobodzinski for the first time.

Currently the he greatest vertical height stair climbing in one hour (male) is 1.227 km (0.762 miles), and was achieved by Spanish firefighter David Robles Tapia at the World Trade Center in his home town Zaragoza on January 20 , 2019.

Ryoji started the season with a win in Niigata, in racefree time is lecturing stairing sessions with Towerrunning Tokyo and last weekend had an impressive win with course record at Tokyo Tower.

His goal is to beat the time of Brian McCauliff (USA), who ran a vertical mile (ascending and descending eight times) on the stairs of the Westin Hotel, Detroit,MI in 1hr 38min 5sec on February 2, 1992.
