Japan is a country with a very lively stairing scene. Initiated by elite runner Takaaki Koyama and organized by Tower Running Tokyo the 3rd edition of the Stairs Rallye recently ended. Between September 2022 and January 2023 there were 11 sprint races up to Japanese temples and shrines.

Females: Chikako Harada before Yuko Tateishi and Aya Watanabe.
Males: Junta Takamura before Aoi Umemura and Takaharu Nakagawa.
There is a kids division too and a special aspect of the series is that the elite runners often participate as guests (outside the point system) and thus use the events for training purposes and at the same time motivate other athletes.
