Towerrunning Tour Final 2018
Shanghai – Shanghai Tower – November 25
The eyes of the Towerrunning community tomorrow will be set to Shanghai.
On the second tallest building in the world with a height of 632 meters the athletes will climb exactly 119 floors, 3398 stairs and overcome the still record 552 meters of altitude – a worthy venue for our season final
We will see a duel for the trophy of Towerrunning Tour 2018 winner between World Champion Suzy Walsham (AUS) and legend Cindy Harris (USA) – two athletes who have set their marks on the sport for a very long time. Very open is the race for 3rd place in the 2018 year final ranking with contenders from three continents with Muhua Jian from hosting China, Maria Elisa Lopez from Mexico and the two Europeans Dominika Wisniewska-Ulfik from Poland and Zuzana Krchova from Czech Republic
.
On the male side World Champion Piotr Lobodzinski from Poland this time will have to leave a big trophy to year long adversary and Vice World Champion Christian Riedl (GER). Though leading 3:2 in direct (often very very tight) duels this season ironically the non showing of Piotr at two important races in May just after the title seems to have been predecisive
The last two confrontations of these two top athletes saw Christian in front, although in their last duel at Brno/Bratislava 160 a new face showed on top. Still in the race for runner up spot is Frank Niocolas Carreno from Colombia and even the Grand Old Man Goerge Heimann (GER) has theoretical chances for the season end podium.
Stay tuned for results tomorrow ….
